A Review on Antibacterial, Antiviral, and Antifungal.
Oral candidiasis is an opportunistic fungal infection of the oral cavity with increasingly worldwide prevalence and incidence rates. Novel specifically-targeted strategies to manage this ailment have been proposed using essential oils (EO) known to have antifungal properties. In this study, we aim to investigate the antifungal activity and mode of action of the EO from Coriandrum sativum L.
This study investigated the antifungal activities of 4 Pleurotus spp. (oyster mushrooms) against 3 pathogenic fungi: Trichoderma harzianum, Verticillium sp., and Pythium sp. The antifungal activity of the mycelia of oyster mushrooms was tested against 3 pathogenic fungi grown in fresh PDA medium using dual culture testing. The antifungal activities of the culture filtrates of oyster mushrooms.
Research output: Contribution to. study indicate that selected DNA topoisomerase inhibitors are a promising class of compounds for the development of new antifungal agents. AB - In this paper we report the results of the study of the in vitro effect of eight anticancer DNA topoisomerase inhibitors on the growth of Aspergillus fumigatus, A. niger, Candida glabrata and Cryptococcus.
Estimation of Antimicrobial activity and antifungal activity on Ecoil, bacillus, salmonella, candida and aspergillus by using Soyabean casein digests agar media,Sabouraud dextrose agar media by the technique cupplate method.in which all the extracts have antibacterial activity where as absent in antifungal activity. Keywords: resistance, herbal extracts, Pouteria Sapota, ,Solanum lycopersicum.
Thus, the problems of elucidating the mechanisms of action of antifungal preparations, highlighting ways to obtain resistance to their action and research strategies aimed at discovering new compounds with antifungal properties remain the focus of contemporary biomedicine and pharmaceutics. This paper reviews the recent achievements in antifungal drug development and focuses on new natural.
The tea polyphenols have been shown to possess many medicinal properties including antifungal activity, but there have been few studies regarding antifungal activity. The antifungal activity of tea polyphenols was evaluated on Candida albicans ATCC 90028 and a clinical isolate of Cryptococcus neoformans employing the disc diffusion assay.
Antifungal activity was assessed by the paper disc agar diffusion method. The results of the antifungal activity showed that the onion exhibited significant fungal growth inhibition in its aqueous and ethanolic extraction. Onion is most effective in its chloroform extract while its effectiveness is least in petroleum ether extract. Screening of.
