The Faculty hereby invites proposals for PhD projects that develop new research on climate, conflict and food security within the broader field of International Environment and Development Studies. Priority will be given to creative and innovative proposals addressing “climate, conflict and food security” within or across the following thematic foci.
The focus of the PhD theses is on the applied breeding of key food crops such as sorghum, cassava and cowpeas for increased disease and drought tolerance, and improved yields and quality, with the aim of improving food security in 12 African countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi.
